
Eligibility Requirements
- Target: Overseas compatriots holding nationality from 6 CIS countries in China and the former Soviet region / 6 CIS countries in the former Soviet region: Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan
- Age: 18 years or older
Foreigner Registration
Overseas compatriots entering with a Visit and Employment (H-2) visa must visit the immigration and foreigner office in charge of their place of residence within 90 days from the date of entry to complete foreigner registration.
Required Documents
- Integrated application form, passport and copy, one standard-sized photo, proof of residence documents, fee
- Early Adaptation Program completion certificate
- Health certificate issued by a hospital designated by the Ministry of Justice
- Job and annual income declaration form
- Korean language proficiency proof documents (grants 3 years upon submission)
Residence Period Extension
Upon initial entry, a maximum period of 3 years is granted. After that, if you receive an 'Employment Period Expired Worker Employment Activity Period Extension Confirmation' issued by the Employment Support Center, you can extend for an additional 1 year and 10 months without leaving the country.

(A) Among those whose Visit and Employment (H-2) eligibility residence period is about to expire, if applicable for purposes such as family visits and cohabitation, child rearing, studies, etc., they can receive a period extension for 'non-employment purposes' and continue to stay.
- Application method: Same as existing residence period extension. However, submission of 'Guidance and Precautions for Visit and Employment (H-2) Residence Status Holders for Non-Employment Purposes' is required
- Extension period: 1 year per time ※ However, if you engage in employment activities after receiving a residence period extension for 'non-employment purposes', your residence permit may be canceled or residence period extensions may be restricted.
(B) After initial entry with Visit and Employment (H-2) eligibility and expiration of the residence period, re-entry is possible with a Visit and Employment (H-2) visa upon departure.
- Eligible applicants: (1) Those who returned their foreigner registration card to the airport exit inspector and departed only via airport during the residence period, and (2) who are '60 years old or younger' as of the departure date ※ Those who departed after receiving a deportation order while staying under Visit and Employment (H-2) eligibility are excluded.
- Application method: Apply for Visit and Employment due to expiration departure at the overseas diplomatic mission in charge of household registration and residence in the home country
(H-2) Visa Application
- Visa type: Multiple visa valid for 3 years ※ Free entry and exit is possible within this period, but if intending to stay long-term for 91 days or more and engage in employment activities, 'foreigner registration' must be completed.
