A. Persons who had not reached the age of 22 before the announcement of the revised Nationality Act (May 4, 2010) are not eligible for Overseas Korean visa issuance as they hold Republic of Korea nationality
ο When entering or exiting the Republic of Korea, must use a Republic of Korea passport
ο For non-registered multiple nationals, a birth registration must be completed in advance to obtain a Republic of Korea passport
→ What is a non-registered multiple national? A person, such as a congenital multiple national by birth, whose birth has not been reported to the Republic of Korea
B. Persons who had reached the age of 22 before the announcement of the revised Nationality Act (May 4, 2010) can be issued an Overseas Korean visa, but only if they have lost their Republic of Korea nationality before applying
ο For non-registered multiple nationals seeking an Overseas Korean visa, a birth registration must be completed, followed by confirmation of nationality loss from the Ministry of Justice, and then family relationship registry cleanup procedures are required
ο In the case of males, they must have completed military service or received a military service exemption, thereby fulfilling their military duty, and hold only foreign nationality; for non-registered multiple nationals, military duty is fulfilled on January 1 of the year they turn 41 (Article 72 of the Military Service Act)
