What is loss of nationality?
Loss of nationality means losing the status as a citizen of a certain country. In other words, you can no longer use that country's passport and lose the rights enjoyed as a citizen of that country.
Why does one lose nationality?

How is the procedure for loss of nationality conducted?
The procedure for loss of nationality varies depending on the reason for the loss. Generally, it follows the following steps.
Occurrence of reason for loss of nationality: A reason for loss of nationality, such as acquiring foreign nationality or committing a crime, occurs.
Reporting or review: When the reason occurs, the individual or relevant agency reports it to the Ministry of Justice, or the Ministry of Justice conducts a review ex officio.
Decision: The Ministry of Justice reviews the submitted documents, applies relevant laws and regulations, and decides whether nationality is lost.
Notification: Once the decision on loss of nationality is made, it is notified to the individual.
