
(1) Read the 'Precautions' and sign.
▪ Before filling out the application, read and understand the 'Precautions' on pages 1 and 2 of the application form, then write the applicant's name (in uppercase if writing in English) and sign or affix a seal in the 'Signature or Seal' section.
(2) Fill out all items completely without omission.
▪ The applicant must read and understand the instructions at the bottom of each item in the application form, fill out all items completely without omission, and mark 'No' for items that do not apply to the applicant.
(3) Write in Korean or English.
▪ The application must be written clearly in Korean or English so that the content is legible. If written in a language other than Korean or English, it must be translated into Korean or English and submitted along with the original document.
▪ If the applicant is illiterate or has a disability preventing them from filling out the application, they may receive assistance from the receiving official.
(4) If possible, fill it out on a computer and print it before submission.
▪ To ensure the content is clearly legible, please download the application form template from the Hi Korea website, fill it out on a computer, print it, and submit it. In this case, use a font size of 12 points or larger.

(5) Submission materials should also be translated into Korean or English as a principle.
▪ For submission materials other than the application (including audio and video files) that are written (recorded or filmed) in a language other than Korean or English, they must be translated into Korean or English and submitted along with the original materials as a principle.
▪ All submission materials (including documents and photos) must be clear enough to discern their content.
▪ If submitting an application or submission materials written (recorded or filmed) in a language other than Korean or English, translated into Korean or English, you must complete the 'Pledge for Agents, Lawyers, Interpreters/Translators, etc.' in section '7. Pledge' of the application. Refer to pages 33-34 of this guide for how to fill it out and page 44 for examples.
(6) Even if family members are filing an appeal together, submit separate applications for each.
▪ Even if family members (parents, spouse, minor children, etc.) are filing an appeal together, each must prepare and submit their own application.
(7) If representing a minor, the legal representative should fill out and sign the application on their behalf.
▪ If parents or other legal representatives are acting on behalf of a minor under 19 years old for the appeal, the representative must fill out and sign the application on behalf of the minor, and in this case, complete the 'Pledge for Agents, Lawyers, Interpreters/Translators, etc.' in section '7. Pledge' of the application. Refer to pages 33-34 of this guide for how to fill it out and page 44 for examples.

Submitting false documents, making false statements, or concealing facts may result in rejection of the appeal, and if discovered after refugee recognition, the recognition may be revoked. ▪ A person who obtains refugee recognition or humanitarian stay permission by submitting false documents, making false statements, or concealing facts shall be punished by imprisonment for up to 1 year or a fine of up to 10 million won. (Article 47 of the Refugee Act)
