To be recognized as a refugee, one must prove that there is a fear of persecution in their home country due to race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion. However, not all refugee applicants are recognized, and they may receive a refugee rejection decision for the following reasons.

Main Reasons for Refugee Rejection
- When the fear of persecution is insufficient
- When the content of persecution claimed by the applicant is not specific or lacks evidence
- When general social issues or personal conflicts are mistaken for persecution
- When already living in a safe third country or can live safely upon returning to the home country
- When posing a threat to national security or public order
- When involved in terrorism, serious crimes, or activities that may harm national security
- When there is a concern of seriously disrupting public order
- False statements
- When false facts are stated or evidence is fabricated during the refugee application process
