What is a Refugee?
A refugee is a person who has fled their home country to seek refuge in another country due to a well-founded fear of persecution because of their race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion.
Why do people become refugees?
War: Losing one's home and facing life-threatening dangers due to civil wars or international conflicts
Persecution: Facing discrimination and violence due to race, religion, gender, political opinion, etc.
Natural disasters: Leaving home to find a place to live after losing their livelihood due to earthquakes, floods, and other natural disasters

Immigrant: A person who voluntarily moves to another country for a better life
Internally displaced person: A person who has moved to another region within their own country due to war or natural disasters
