Foreigners who have received entry or permission to stay are granted a status of stay corresponding to their purpose of entry in accordance with the Immigration Control Act. During their stay in the Republic of Korea, foreigners may only engage in activities corresponding to that status of stay. (For example, a foreigner who entered with a short-term general (C-3) status of stay cannot engage in remunerated activities such as business, English teaching, or part-time work.)
