If a foreign resident wishes to engage in activities other than those related to their residence status, they must obtain permission for activities outside of residence status in advance. For example, a missionary who is active under a religious residence status must obtain permission for activities outside of residence status if they wish to teach foreign language conversation at a private foreign language academy while continuing their religious activities.
