Unlike the insured unit period, which includes only the period during which wages were received, the insured period refers to the total period during which an employee is employed at a workplace subject to employment insurance. It includes periods of illness or injury, maternity leave, parental leave, union full-time period, and more. In other words, even if an employee has been employed for a long time at the same workplace after joining employment insurance, the insured period is calculated from July 1, 1995, when employment insurance began, so in most cases, the continuous service period and the insured period do not match (Article 41 of the Employment Insurance Act). • Calculation Method - If there is a fact of resignation from another covered workplace before being employed at the current covered workplace, and the insured status is reacquired (employed at the current covered workplace) within 1 year from the date of that resignation, the employment period at the previous covered workplace is included in the insured period. However, if unemployment benefits were received from the workplace at the time of resignation before reacquiring the insured status, the employment period at that related workplace is excluded.
