The Minister of Employment and Labor requests deliberation from the Minimum Wage Deliberation Committee by March 31 each year. The Minimum Wage Deliberation Committee deliberates within 90 days from the date of receiving the deliberation request and submits the minimum wage proposal to the Minister of Employment and Labor. Then, the Minister determines and announces the newly applicable minimum wage by August 5. The criteria for determining the minimum wage are the workers' cost of living, wages of similar workers, and labor productivity.
