Work exceeding the standard working hours as stipulated by the Labor Standards Act. For adult workers, it refers to work exceeding 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week; for juvenile workers, work exceeding 7 hours per day or 40 hours per week. In addition, extended work under Article 52, Paragraphs 1 and 2 of the same Act, and extended work in cases of 'special circumstances' under Article 52, Paragraph 3 of the same Act, all qualify as extended work. Employers must pay extended work at a rate of at least 50% in addition to the regular wage (Article 55 of the same Act).
