The recognition of work-related accidents evaluates the relationship with work during work, work preparation, before or after work completion by assessing work performance and work-related actions, work content, work environment, and the substantial causal relationship between them and the accident (work causation) as the judgment criteria for work-related accidents. Accidents (work causation) occurring in relation to work during work performance (work performance nature) can naturally be recognized as work-related accidents, and even if not during work performance (no work performance nature), accidents or diseases with a substantial causal relationship with work or work environment, etc. (work causation) can be recognized as work-related accidents. Therefore, even accidents during work or outside work hours, if they are disasters during necessary incidental actions accompanying work, disasters during necessary incidental actions within the workplace during work hours or other times, disasters during rescue actions or emergency evacuation actions that can be foreseen from a social common sense due to sudden accidents such as natural disasters or fires within the workplace, disasters during commuting with transportation provided by the employer, disasters during business trips, disasters during company-sponsored events such as sports competitions, outings, hiking, etc., accidents due to violence by third parties with substantial causal relationship to work, and disasters by third parties, stroke or death due to overwork, and other occupational diseases related to repeated work or work environment can all be recognized as work-related accidents.
