It is an allowance paid to workers when the employer requires them to work at night, and it must be paid by adding at least 50% of the regular wage (Labor Standards Act Article 55). It is also called overtime allowance or late-night allowance. If overtime work is performed at night, both the night work allowance and the overtime work allowance must be paid in duplicate.
