Disability compensation pension refers to a pension benefit provided in place of suspension of pay benefits to improve the compensation level for the injured worker receiving medical care benefits and their family to ensure living stability as the medical care becomes prolonged without healing even after 2 years from the start of medical care. The eligibility requirements for disability compensation pension are that the injury or disease has not healed even after 2 years have passed, and the degree of the injury or disease corresponds to disability grade 1 to 3. The pension amount is paid as follows based on the disability grade: Grade 1: 329 days' worth of average wage, Grade 2: 291 days' worth, Grade 3: 257 days' worth. If a worker receives disability pension, the suspension of pay benefits are suspended, and if it continues to be paid even after 3 years from the start of medical care, it is deemed as a lump-sum compensation, allowing the employer to dismiss the worker. Submit the disability compensation pension claim form with the doctor's diagnosis certificate to the Korea Workers' Compensation & Welfare Service within 14 days from the date of occurrence.
