If a worker who qualifies for unemployment benefits cannot receive recognition of unemployment for 7 days or more due to illness or injury after reporting unemployment, they cannot receive unemployment benefits. Therefore, this is a benefit paid instead of unemployment benefits exceptionally to ensure the worker's livelihood stability (Article 49 of the Employment Insurance Act).
•Claim Procedure: After treatment for the illness or injury is completed, submit the 'Sickness Benefit Claim Form' to the head of the job stability agency in charge of the worker's residential area on the first unemployment recognition date.
