In cases where a worker was unable to receive wages for a continuous period of 30 days or more due to illness or injury, pregnancy, childbirth, parental leave, workplace suspension, military service, etc., within 18 months prior to the date of job change, the period corresponding to that is additionally granted to the standard period of 18 months, making the total standard period up to 3 years (Article 40, Paragraph 2 of the Employment Insurance Act).
