What is the Reference Period?

A specific period artificially set before the resignation date, necessary to determine whether a person qualifies for unemployment benefits. In our country, it is 18 months, and it can be extended up to a maximum of 3 years in cases where the worker has unavoidable reasons (Employment Insurance Act Article 40 Paragraph 2).
