A system that establishes a long-term vision for an individual's growth and implements education and training step by step. It comprehensively analyzes personnel cards detailing the employee's past occupations (career), research themes, acquired qualifications, special skills, family situation, etc., self-report forms filled with desired job types and personal development goals, performance evaluation sheets, and more, to identify the best future career path for that person. It clarifies the desired future position, necessary knowledge, skills, qualifications, etc., and systematically plans and implements transfers and training toward those goals. In career development planning, the method of skill development considers the imbalance between training and on-the-job experience, placing greater emphasis on on-the-job experience. The assigned workplace, assignment period (including promotions), and the superior and job assignments at the assigned location form the core of career formation or skill development methods. It was introduced in 1963 by Showa Denko (昭和電工) as a necessary system for promotions and job rotation, gaining fame.
